Local Missions

Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” ~Matthew 22:37-39

Our love for God is seen and demonstrated tangibly in our love for our neighbor. We try to live our daily lives in ways that God’s love is making an impact on our neighbors. As a church, we have various ministries that reach out to those in need, from special youth outreach events to regular, ongoing ministries.

We also partner with many fine local organizations to help those in need, to reach out to our youth, to share the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to strengthen faith in our community. We firmly believe that as we work together in the power of God’s Holy Spirit, we can make a difference in our valley. We encourage you to learn more about these organizations and support them with your time, resources and prayers.

Medford Gospel Mission
The mission offers a safe, warm place where people in need can be fed both physically and spiritually, and can receive counseling and training to help get them back on their feet. Westminster has had a long partnership with the Mission, providing funds, food and volunteers to help with the ministry to the homeless in our valley.

Hearts with a Mission
There are more than 2,000 youth identified as homeless in the Rogue Valley. This 17 bed home provides safe emergency shelter for homeless 10-17 year old youth for up to 72 hours, and can be a HOME for up to 120 days with written parental consent. During their stay, residents are supported through counseling, education, job training and connection to additional social services. Just as importantly, they are loved and valued and given a place to belong, all in the name of Christ!

The Pregnancy Center
The Pregnancy Center is a faith-based organization, focused on promoting the values of the sanctity of human life, premarital abstinence, and marital fidelity in our community. The Center provides women, families and youth with education, crisis intervention counseling, supportive programs for moms-to-be through labor, delivery and the first year of the baby’s life. There are also parenting offered classes through the first two years of the baby’s life.

Wilderness Trails
For some of our area’s most vulnerable kids, camp is more than just a week away from it all, it is a life-changing experience as they learn how completely they are loved by God.

Family Nurturing Center and Crisis Relief Nursery
The Family Nurturing Center provides much needed support for children and parents to help break the cycles of abuse and neglect. Westminster is proud to support this important service.

Child Evangelism Fellowship
We are committed to reaching people of all ages with the Good News of God’s love in Jesus Christ. That’s why we have partnered with CEF to begin a “Good News Club” at Hoover Elementary school. In addition to financial support, Westminster members help run the club for these kids!

Servant Partners, Los Angeles
Katherine and husband Richard live and serve in South Los Angeles where Katherine is Director of Short-term Internships with Servant Partners, an ministry focusing on urban church planting around the world.
Katherine’s work with interns helps give them a deeper understanding of God’s heart for the poor through practical, incarnational community service, as well as helping them understand God’s love for them by fostering spiritual disciplines that help build a lifelong relationship with God.
